By the end of this lecture, students will be able to:
1. Define the term stage blocking and explain its purpose in Christian drama,
both practically and spiritually.
2. Label at least six basic stage directions (e.g., US, DS, CS, SL, SR, etc.) on a
stage diagram from the actor’s perspective.
3. Demonstrate appropriate stage movements in a short scene that enhance
storytelling and spiritual clarity.
4. Identify and correct at least three common stage movement mistakes (e.g.,
turning back to audience, blocking others).
5. Apply the principle of purposeful movement by choreographing a 2-minute
movement sequence that conveys a biblical theme or parable without dialogue.
6. Reflect in writing on how order, discipline, and clarity in blocking align with
biblical values such as those in 1 Corinthians 14:40.
