Opening Scripture: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so
that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” —
⸻ Colossians 4:6
Lecture Objectives:
By the end of this lecture, students will be able to:
1. Identify and explain at least 3 biblical examples that demonstrate God as a
communicator (e.g., Genesis 1, John 1:1, prophets).
2. List and define the 6 foundational elements of the communication process
(Sender, Message, Medium, Receiver, Feedback, Noise) with 80% accuracy in a
short quiz or oral review.
3. Demonstrate effective verbal communication by delivering a 1-minute speech
or Scripture reading with clear diction, appropriate tone, and correct pacing, as
evaluated using a performance checklist.
4. Interpret and apply at least 4 non-verbal communication techniques (e.g.,
posture, facial expressions, gestures, eye contact) in a drama-based role play or
mirror exercise.
5. Analyze a dramatic presentation or message delivery and identify at least 3
areas where performance skills (presence, emotion, voice, timing, connection) are
either effective or lacking.
6. Rehearse and present a 30-second monologue or Scripture-based message
using both verbal and non-verbal communication, showing improvement in
confidence and clarity based on peer or instructor feedback.
7. Reflect on personal barriers to communication (e.g., fear, poor articulation)
and write down 2 action stepsto improve in future presentations or ministry settings.
