Learning Objectives:
By the end of this lecture, students will be able to:
1. Define improvisation and explain its specific application in Christian drama
using at least two scriptural or ministry-based examples.
2. Identify and describe at least four core improvisation techniques used in
Christian drama (e.g., “Yes, and…”, active listening, emotional honesty).
3. Demonstrate the ability to perform a 2-minute improvised scene with a
partner, incorporating Christian values and maintaining character consistency.
4. Respond to unexpected on-stage situations (e.g., forgotten lines or emotional
shifts) by applying improvisational strategies without breaking character.
5. Evaluate a peer’s improvised performance using a provided rubric that
assesses message clarity, character integrity, and spiritual sensitivity.
6. Practice spiritual discipline in improvisation by participating in a preperformance prayer and reflecting on how the Holy Spirit can guide spontaneous
ministry moments.
